TOUR & EXPLORE ITINERARY
Morning
Start your day with a visit to Check’s Radio Museum in Karns City where you will find over 800 radios displayed in a beautiful setting on the Allegheny River at the end of Seybertown Road. Free admission – open April through October. Call for tour or tour by chance.
Take a walking tour of historic Downtown Kittanning and stroll through the beautiful Riverfront Park, along the Allegheny River. The park features winding walkways and scenic river views. A central feature is the John P. Murtha Amphitheatre, which seats 1,000 for a variety of entertainment events.
Lunch
Drop into Greendale Tavern for good times and great food! This restaurant/bowling lanes combination is a neighborhood favorite, and offers a casual, friendly dining atmosphere that you and your friends are sure to enjoy. They have 12 lanes, offering league and open bowling 8am-12:30am daily. Whether you're in the mood for casual dining or a special occasion, Greendale Tavern is sure to please.
Afternoon
If the great outdoors are more to your liking, check out Mahoning Creek Lake, situated among steep-sided valleys and forested hillsides. Call to schedule a thrilling tour of the dam which bills itself as “The Best Dam Tour in the World!”
Dinner/Evening
Enjoy fine Italian cuisine at The Villa Restaurant. Homemade pasta with a variety of sauces and an assortment of other food is sure to please everyone’s palette. Then catch a show at the Casino Theatre, Southwestern Pennsylvania’s oldest active theater located in Vandergrift’s National Register Historic District. If you’re looking for something a little more wild and crazy stop in at the Warehouse. The best DJs, the Hottest Music, the place will blow you away with the most innovative sound system and extreme hi-tech light show towering from above. The Warehouse is always alive and kick’n featuring Live Entertainment with Local and National acts. Overnight

Directions to Happy Trails Equine Center from Rt 28N:
After passing Rt 28/66 and Route 85 intersection follow Rt 28/66 for 5 miles to Village of Baum. Look for SR1018 on right. Turn right onto SR1018 towards Dayton. Follow for approximately 2.5 miles. Turn left on Martin Road.

Happy Trails Equine Center is situated on 125 acres of wooded and gently rolling farmland. Bring your family to saddle up and mosey down the trail for a one or two hour guided ride through the woods and over water. After your ride, relax around the campfire and enjoy outdoor cooking in the country. Happy Trails will customize and accommodate for groups of all ages and sizes.
Directions to Downtown Kittanning from Happy Trails:
From Martin Road, turn right onto SR1018. Follow to Rt 28/66; turn left to Rt 28/66 follow to exit for Business 422 Kittanning. At third light (will see bridge to left) turn right onto Market Street.
Shopping in Downtown Kittanning:
Visit the many unique stores along Market Street. There you will find everything from books to gently used clothing. If it’s antiques you like, be sure to visit Kats ‘Tiques and the TLC Shop for treasures from the 1800’s through the 1960’s. If it’s primitive home embellishments you enjoy, stop in at Creative Dreams. There you will find everything from gourmet goods to handmade quilts. Regardless of your taste, in Downtown Kittanning you will surely find something for everyone to enjoy.

Directions to Kiski Junction From Downtown Kittanning: Follow S. Water Street to Rt 66 South. Continue 66 South for 14 miles turn right at blinking light onto Schenley Road. Follow for 4 miles. At the end of Schenley road, cross the railroad tracks to Railroad Street and you will see the Railroad Station just ahead.

Kiski Junction Railroad Inc. is a working freight & tourist shortline, offering scenic train rides in Pennsylvania. They have been providing reliable freight service for over 150 years, providing fun tourist rides since 1996. Train departs Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at 2pm sharp for a one hour ride. (Tuesday and Friday can be 1.5 hours if hauling freight)
Directions from Kiski Junction Railroad Inc. to The Rivers Edge Canoe and Kayak: Follow Shenley Road to Rt 66S intersection (blinking light), turn right onto Rt 66S. Continue to follow to Rt 66S to River Road, turn left onto River Road (before Leechburg Bridge). Follow to The River's Edge Canoe and Kayak on left, approximately 1.5 miles.
