The following proposed 2008/2009 hunting seasons are not exhaustive and do not include special seasons.

SPRING GOBBLER (Bearded bird only): April 25-May 25.

WILD TURKEY (Male or Female): Nov. 1-22.

BLACK BEAR Nov. 24-26.

DEER, ARCHERY (Antlered and Antlerless) Statewide: Oct. 4-Nov. 15 and Dec. 26-Jan. 10.

DEER (Antlered only): Dec. 1-5

DEER (Antlered and Antlerless) Statewide: Dec. 6-13.

DEER, ANTLERLESS MUZZLELOADER (Statewide): Oct. 18-25.

DEER, ANTLERED OR ANTLERLESS FLINTLOCK (Statewide): Dec. 26-Jan. 10.

Armstrong Conservation District
The Armstrong Conservation District in cooperation with public and private partners will promote stewardship of our natural resources.

Armstrong County Sportsmen and Conservation League
This organization represents 13 Sportsmen organizations within Armstrong County. We sponsor a Youth Field Day, Special Friends (physical and mentally challenged individuals) Fishing Day, Scholarship Fund, and an annual banquet.

Avonmore Canoe Launch
This canoe launch is a public access to the Kiskiminetas River. Park area includes: pavillion with electric, bathroom facilities and fishing area.

Kit-Han-Ne Chapter National Wild Turkey Federation
The Kit-Han-Ne Chapter NWTF was organized in 1996. We have 12 active members with open meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at Pinecreek Sportsmens Club. Among other activities, we sponsor Youth Jakes Day(Youth instruction in turkey hunting and safety), a youth pheasant hunt, and hold an annual banquet to support the National Wild Turkey Federation on the last Saturday in August.

Larry Smail Art
Local artist, Larry A. Smail specializes in original wildlife; nature and 18th century historical paintings; limited ediion prints; book and magazine illustrations. Larry, also, authored and illustrated the book," THE ATTACK ON KIT-HAN-NE" and completed an instrumental gospel CD intitled " AS THE DEER."

Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy
We are dedicated to the development, protection, and promotion of hiking, biking, and walking trails throughout western Pennsylvania. Armstrong County hosts a portion of the Baker Trail, a 132-mile hiking and backpacking trail which follows forest paths, old jeep trails, and paved roads. Each August, runners test themselves on the trail in our annual 50-mile Baker Trail UltraChallenge & Relay!

Scrubgrass Village OVH Park
Mahoning and Scrubgrass Creeks, Scrubgrass Sportsmen Club/ OHV Park, Garmon's Wildlife Preserve. 1242 Acres and over 50 miles of hiking and OVH Trails. Hunt, fish, canoe and kayak. Camping. Membership only. Special ATV/bike/snowmobile events throughout the year open to the public. Land leasing for access. Stocked pheasant & trout.
